Demand side response
What is it?
The National Grid pays companies to lower or shift their electricity use at peak times when the national supply is under pressure.
This system helps The National Grid manage the load and voltage profiles on the national electricity network – This is known as Demand Side Response.
In simple terms the National Grid uses your assets (Generators HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning), chillers, industrial storage batteries, and industrial pumps) as a virtual power station in times where the demand for energy outstrips supply and allows demand to be managed in an intelligent way.
To date very few companies have taken advantage of the financial rewards they are entitled to from the National Grid despite there being strong interest from companies wanting to take part, so what’s the hold up?
Quite simply, it’s fiendishly difficult to understand, there is so much technical information to get your head around and this is where we can help.
The EE Services team can set up and administer the process from start to finish and manage your business energy so you can get on and manage your business.
